Grover Baker
Grover Baker, Librarian and Interim Coordinator of Research Collections, holds an M.S. in Information Sciences from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. He has also earned a Master of Church Music, with a second major in Conducting, from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and a B.M. in Church Music from Belmont University. Mr. Baker’s responsibilities include providing reference service to researchers using the Center’s collections, acquiring new books and materials for the Center’s Reading Room, and cataloging new books, rare books, and sound recordings. Mr. Baker joined the staff of the Center for Popular Music in January of 2006, having spent the previous ten years working in the music library of Belmont University. Additionally, he has served as Minister of Music and Church Pianist for churches in Tennessee and Kentucky.
Mr. Baker serves on the Best of Chapters Committee for the Music Library Association (MLA) and is a Music Reference Instructor for MLA's Education Outreach Program. He also currently serves as Member-at-Large (2007-2009) for the Southeast Chapter of the Music Library Association and maintains a membership in the American Library Association.
