Center for Popular Music

Donations and Contributions

Donations

The Center for Popular Music regularly receives vernacular music materials (recordings, books, music, etc.) from donors; indeed, many of the most important and useful items in the Center’s collections were acquired in this manner. Donations to CPM should support its mission and (in general) not duplicate materials already in the collections. A potential donor will want to be in touch with the Center’s director or archivist concerning the procedures for making a donation of materials. The fair-market value of donations is tax deductible to the extent permitted by law, but please note that neither CPM nor members of its staff are allowed to issue appraisals of value.

Contributions

The Center for Popular Music especially welcomes monetary gifts, which go directly to support operations. Free public programs, a reference question service, the development of finding aids, computer access, collections acquisitions — all this and much more is made possible through your generosity. Please be in touch with Kristin Wells, Director of Development in the College of Media and Entertainment, for details on making a tax-deductible gift.
