Large sheet music, cover is color drawing of aerial view of the Nashville Centennial Exposition, 1897; photo of Mrs. Van Leer Kirkman, president woman's board. On first page is explanation of contest for an official song for the expo., advertised in thousands of newspapers, had 288 submissions, 3 judges, including H.A. French of Nashville. The song was first played on Jan., 20, 1897 by Sousa at Memphis' Grand Opera House.

Each page has intricate drawings along top and border, featuring landmark buildings at expo site.
