This audio tape was retrieved from discard by Middle Tennessee State University Television Services by the Center audio archivist.  The date, source, etc. are unknown.

 

Biographical sketch:

Wolfman Jack, born Bob Smith in Brooklyn NY ca. 1939, was an early fan of rhythm and blues and rock music and spent over thirty years as a disc jockey in Nashville and southern California.  He also hosted the television show  Midnight Special for nine years and appeared in the film American Graffiti. (from clippings in Nashville Tennessean  6 April and 2 July 1988 in the biographical vertical file.)

 

Scope and content:

This radio show, written and produced by Jim Nettleton and Long John Wade (Wayne?) was a four‑hour documentary of the history of the Beatles and includes narration and interviews as well as  performances by the Beatles.
