Biographical sketch:

P.J. Broome, who for many years played drums in various midstate jazz bands, and Clay Tucker, a retired dean of Liberal Arts at Middle Tennessee State University and a life-long jazz trumpeter, co-authored a book, The Other Music City. Publication of the book, which includes scores of photographs and excerpts from interviews with players, club owners, and patrons conducted by Broome, was underwritten by Local 257 of the American Federation of Musicians.
