Biographical sketch:

David A. Jasen teaches in the Department of Communication Arts at the C.W. Post campus of Long Island University, and is director of their Popular Music Archive. He is an expert on ragtime and his publications include Tin Pan Alley, and Recorded Ragtime 1897-1958.
 

Scope and content:

The tape is approximately one hour, of Jasen answering a list of questions from an unknown source on Hunter, Turpin, and other ragtime composers and publishers. It was originally recorded in St. Louis, Missouri.
