Scope and Content:

Video tape copy made by M.T.S.U. Television Services of 2 16 mm films. The first portion of the tape, which includes an individual buck dancing backed by a fiddle, banjo and guitar, a fiddler a group square dancing, and 2 banjos and a fiddle, was copied from a 16 mm film “Square Dancing in Southern Mountains 1919-1931” which was labeled: Filmed for Elizabeth Burchenal, original film property of Duquesne University, acquired by CDSS through Glen Bannerman of Richmond, Va.” The second portion of the tape, which shows a group dancing outdoors, was copied from a 16 mm film labeled “play party or circle dance on lawn, somewhere in Virginia, double quadrille” and the name Richard Chase.

 

Location:

The tape is field by tape number with other archival audio visual materials. A use copy was transferred to the librarian.
